Barung Landcare in collaboration with Maleny District Green Hills Fund and
Sunshine Coast Council held a tree planting event on the Maleny Community Precinct on the morning of Saturday 23rd October. Around 400 people attended the morning and more than 4000 trees and shrubs were planted on two sites in the riparian zone of Obi Obi Creek.
“We’d like to express our thanks to the more than four hundred people who turned up to plant trees on the Precinct on Saturday. You made it a very special day. We’d like to especially thank the fifty volunteers who made it all run so smoothly. Thanks to you all for putting the Community into the Precinct.”

Barung will be attending the fourth annual Caloundra Music Festival that will be held over the weekend of 8 - 10 October.
“Sponsor a Tree” for $5-00 is the opportunity for festival participants to help offset their Carbon Footprint.
We will also be providing information about Landcare and fund raising for our group by selling certified fairtrade organic Montville Coffee and using great tasting Maleny Dairies milk.
2500 native plants will be contributed by Barung Landcare and planted to help mitigate and offset the festivals carbon footprint.
This not for profit family-friendly community event celebrates the environment, cultural achievements and community pride of the Caloundra area.
The beautiful Kings Beach and surrounds will come alive to the sounds of a diverse line-up of entertainment featuring the best of the Australian music industry as well as famous international artists.
A colourful street parade, roving performers, beach-side carnival, buskers, free children’s entertainment and a stroll in The Village complete the experience.
